Toys, Balloons, Stickers and Candy: Mission Pediatrics’ doctors love to make kids smile. After the negative experience of a shot, children sometimes return to happiness with a lollipop or sticker –sometimes a toy or candy. Unfortunately, lollipops, stickers, balloons and candy can pose a choking hazard. Balloons or toys can have latex in them for those who allergic. Candy can cause a sticky mess in the car and ruin clothing. Choking can lead to brain or other organ damage or death. Some parents do not want these things for their children, and we expect you will supervise the use of these things with your children. We do, however, respect your decision to limit your child’s exposure to these things, but please make this clear to our staff when they are offered.
