Erin Nash-Fairfax, Physician Assistant
Erin Fairfax is a Physician Assistant. She grew up primarily in San Diego and Virginia. Her father was in the military so she was able to travel a bit as a child. Her favorite place to live was Okinawa, Japan. She has been working with children since her childhood. Erin and her sister Amy were a two-woman team babysitting all the kids in the neighborhood. In the summers she worked as a lifeguard and taught swim lessons for many years. Erin still keeps in touch with several families whose kids she taught to swim over 20 years ago.
In college Erin played Division I women’s soccer. At James Madison University she studied health sciences, biology and studio Art. Erin was also a volunteer firefighter. In 2005 she decided to make it her career. Erin was a firefighter for San Diego Rural Fire for 5 years and Cal Fire Riverside and San Bernardino for 10 years. After having children and being married to someone also in the fire service she knew she needed to make a career change.
Erin lives on property with her parents with plenty of room for others (human and animal)! Both of Erin’s parents were in the medical field and inspired her to pursue her own medical career. Erin is married with 3 girls, ranging in age from toddler to high school.
Erin has played many roles in the medical field, which gives her a wide variety of knowledge and experiences. She is no stranger to hard work and does not shy away from cleaning bathrooms or filing paperwork. All of which she describes as, “just being a part of the team.” She has worked as a physician assistant in family practice, urgent care, aesthetics and emergency medicine. Erin says in school she used tons of pneumonics to help her study. A pneumonic Erin says describes herself and her goals for patient care is:
E – EMPATHY – Erin is compassionate, caring and understanding.
R – keeping it REAL; Erin is authentic, truthful and has integrity; She strives to provide timely and clear communication focused on your comfort and personhood.
I – no “I” in Team; I will work hard to help your child reach their full potential, this requires an Interdisciplinary team.
N – NEEDS – I will work hard to meet your needs. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help you!
Erin looks forward to working with children and inspiring others to meet their full potential. Her favorite quote is by Henry David Thoreau, “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you have imagined.”
